Visit the Center for Advanced Technologies (CAT) and learn about the in-demand career training housed in this impressive building. The CAT is a 28,000-square-foot building with flexible space that can change to meet the workforce needs of our community. Three pre-apprentice programs run at the CAT – Metalwork, Industrial Maintenance, and Building & Construction Trades. We also have short-term courses with several levels in Electrical and Welding. 

Whether you know college is not for you, if you are unsure of your next steps out of high school, or you want to upskill into a new career, tour the CAT and hear about training options, some of which are free and a couple that place graduates in employment with local employers.

Do you want to work with your hands and have a career with real impact? Learn about Metalwork which trains participants to use machines to make parts for all industries, from national security to life-saving medical devices. You might also be interested in industrial maintenance, where participants learn how to maintain and repair machinery suitable for many industries.
